AmeriCorps NCCC team works with Rehab Services, Inc.
A team of AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) members are working with Rehab Services, Inc (RSI) on Mar. 6, 2010 and finishing their mission on Mar. 29, 2010. The NCCC team is helping to improve the functionality and processing program of the thrift store. This helps maintain the stability of the RSI training center for persons with disabilities. While working with the RSI staff, volunteers and persons with disabilities, the team is developing experience and life skills in working with people. They are also gaining experience in marketing, project organization and volunteer recruitment.
AmeriCorps NCCC, administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service, provides opportunities to members, who work to improve the environment, enhance education, increase public safety, help with disaster relief and assist in other unmet human needs. NCCC members must be18-24 and complete at least 1,700 hours of service during the 10-month program.
