RSI, Then and Now

This has been another great year for RSI and I want to start out again by thanking a very great staff and supportive Board of Directors. This year brought into RSI a new social entrepreneurial program called Space Creators. Space Creators is a training/ employment program which performs scanning and shredding while training and employing peoples with disabilities, the program area that was the start of RSI. We also rec'd the contract to start Soft Skills training in three regions to include Minot, Williston, and Devils Lake.
When asked "what is RSI" we often find ourselves challenged to answer as we do many services for people in need. We have offices in five of North Dakota's eight regions and serve the entire state with our Benefits Planning program. Through the efforts of talented individuals provided through an AmeriCorps grant we developed a new logo and tag line. "Empowering Neighbors. Strengthening Communities."
Combined with the efforts of our Board of Directors, we are looking at enhancing services that will meet the needs of children with intellectual limitations as well as those who are medically fragile. This will involve the talents and efforts of many to put together comprehensive progressive options and to be able to acquire the necessary funds for our area children.
I am thrilled to see the progress of RSI since we started in 1988 with a two room office and one contract to perform job placement. Thanks again to our community partners, Board of RSI, and staff! We have a lot of work ahead and I have full confidence that we will succeed!
